Clovis Aquatic Center Closed Due to Vandalism

UPDATED 12:41P.M. JULY 11, 2021

Following vandalism of the pool area of the Clovis Aquatic Center, the area will be closed to the public on Monday, July 12, and Tuesday, July 13, 2021, for repairs.

The City of Clovis received notification at 7:15 a.m. this morning of vandalism of the pool area. Damage to the facility included broken windows, with many items used by the swim team thrown into the pool. The Clovis Police Department responded to the scene. The area has been secured, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

“The vandalism of parks facilities is extremely upsetting,” advised Parks and Recreation Director Russell Hooper on Sunday. “The Parks and Recreation Department works extremely hard to provide quality facilities to the public, and it is very disappointing to see acts of vandalism of our public places.”For questions or comments, please contact the City Manager’s Office at 575-769-7828 or email administration@cityofclovis.org
