Water Main Break at Clovis Regional Airport

CLOVIS, NM (January 22, 2024) –The City of Clovis regrets to inform the public of a water main break that occurred earlier today at Clovis Regional Airport. Our dedicated teams responded swiftly to address the situation and ensure minimal disruption to airport operations.

The incident was reported at 1:45 P.M. on Sunday, January 21, 2024, when a water main near the airport’s terminal by the security fence experienced a rupture. City officials confirm that the water main break has been successfully contained and is in the process of being repaired. Currently, the water main is turned off while EPCOR and Mark Carpenter Plumbing, Heating & Air work together to repair the pipes.

While the incident may have caused temporary inconveniences, we want to assure the community that Clovis Regional Airport remains operational and flights are proceeding as scheduled. To accommodate this repair work, restrooms within the airport will be temporarily affected due to the water being turned off. We appreciate the understanding of passengers during this period. Accommodations, including portable restroom facilities, are being made outside of security, and passengers are advised that restroom services will not be available after the TSA checkpoint until they board the aircraft.

“We appreciate the community’s understanding and cooperation during this unexpected event. Our teams worked diligently to address the water main break, and we are grateful for their swift response,” stated Amanda Brungart, Airport Director for the Clovis Regional Airport.
