Controlled Burn at Ned Houk Park on September 26

Controlled Burn at Ned Houk Park on September 26

The Clovis Fire Department will be conducting a controlled burn at Ned Houk Park on 26 September beginning at 7:00 a.m. The duration is expected to be approximately 8-10 hours. The purpose of this controlled burn is to reduce the heavy fire load from fallen trees and debris in order to minimize the risk of a wildland fire.

If you see a column of thick black smoke in the vicinity of Ned Houk Park, do not be alarmed. There will be pre-staged Fire apparatus and Water tankers that will maintain a Fire Watch throughout the event.

We ask that members of our community, please stay clear of this area for your own safety.  For questions or more information, please contact the City of Clovis Fire Marshal’s Office at 575-763-9211 or email tlizardo@cityofclovis.org.
