Main Street Sidewalk Replacement Project to Start on Monday, November 20, 2023

CLOVIS, NM (November 14, 2023) – The City of Clovis is excited to announce the start of the Main Street Sidewalk Replacement Project, an initiative aimed at enhancing the infrastructure and accessibility along Main Street from Grand Avenue to Second Street.

The contractor, Nick Griego and Sons, Inc, will begin the project on Monday, November 20, 2023. The total cost of the project is $301,621, with  $257,705 in funding contributions from the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) Transportation Alternative Small Urban Funds and $43,916 from the City of Clovis.

The Main Street Sidewalk Replacement Project is estimated to take 60 days and encompasses the removal of existing sidewalks and trees, making way for a replacement sidewalk that will feature stamped concrete behind the curb. Additionally, the project includes Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements at the corners of Grand Avenue and Second Street, ensuring a more inclusive and accessible environment for all.

To minimize disruptions and ensure seamless access for the community, the contractor, Nick Griego and Sons, Inc., will be coordinating with all businesses impacted by the project on Main Street. The City of Clovis prioritizes open communication and collaboration with the local business community throughout the duration of this project. Regular updates and notices will be provided to keep residents, businesses, and stakeholders well informed.
