Career Spotlight

The Clovis Area Transit System is currently seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join their team as an Office Manager. As the hub of local travel, CATS requires an individual with strong organizational and communication skills to support day-to-day operations. Clovis-Carver Public Library

The following monthly highlights are scheduled for the month of February, please view the calendar for a full list of events:

  • Community Blood Drive, in the Ingram Room at 11:00 A.M. pre-register at www.bloodhero.com
  • Tiny Tots Storytime, Wednesdays at 10:00 A.M.
  • Preschool Storytime, Thursdays at 10:00 A.M.
  • Flashlight Freeze Tag, 5:00 P.M. on 2/17/24.

Crime Tip Hotline

Residents can help keep our community safe with the Clovis Police Department’s (CPD) crime-tip hotline. If you see something, say something, and report crime sightings or suspicious activity to the CPD.

To easily report a crime tip, click here or text a top to 847411. All tips are confidential. This easy-to-use option provides an additional way for you to get connected to the CPD and help fight crime. Please don’t hesitate to call 911 or the non-emergency number, 575-763-9472, to report a crime or suspicious activity.

Holiday Reminders

The City of Clovis will be closed on Monday, February 19th to observe Presidents’ Day. NOTE: This holiday does NOT affect solid-waste collection.

The following meetings are scheduled for the month of February:

Parks & Recreation

  • Aquatic Center
    • Pool Deck Walking: Do you like to walk outside but it’s too cold? Come walk with us at the City of Clovis Aquatic Center. Our pool deck is warm & free from the outside elements. It’s FREE – just sign up at the Aquatic Center Front Desk.
    • Mommy & Me, Pop & Tots: The Aquatic Center encourages parents and caregivers to teach water competency to children ages 6 months to 6 years of age. Monday & Wednesdays 10 A.M. – 11 A.M. This class is free but registration is required. Register now.
    • Card Board Boat Races, Homeschool Addition: April 5, 2024 at 11 A.M. Cost: Daily home school swim fee. Boat race will be from 11 A.M. – 12 P.M. and open swim for 1 hour after the races. Register your boat at the Aquatic Center front desk. RULES: ALL boats must be made with card board and duct tape. Things we learn: buoyancy, water displacement, physics & team building.
    • Mermaid Classes: Must be 16 or older. Registration is required. Cost: $24 to be paid at time of registration. Classes are on Saturday from 1-2 P.M. January 6 – February 24. Fin rentals start at $40 and can be rented from the instructor. Register now.
  • Hillcrest Park Zoo
    • Black Bear Baily & Willow Sweet 16 at Hillcrest Park Zoo on February 17th. Come celebrate our black bears with a day of fun and enrichment. Keeper talk (Q&A) at 12:00 P.M.
    • From now until Valentine’s Day stop by the Hillcrest Park Zoo and purchase a Love Bug for the animals! The zoo is accepting donations in exchange for valentine “love bug” treats for an animal of your choice. Those who donate will receive a love bug valentine and certificate of donation.   • Roy Walker Recreation Center
    • Free yoga classes will be held every Wednesday at 6:00 P.M. in the month of February.
    • Kickboxing will be held every Tuesday & Thursday at 6:00 P.M.
    • Volunteer Coaches are needed. The Roy Walker Youth Basketball League is seeking volunteer coaches for youth teams ages 5 – 13. Register to be a coach today at cityofclovis.org/basketball.

Senior Center

  • Blood pressure checks, sponsored by Interim, every Friday at 11:00 A.M.
  • Bingo, Tuesdays at 1:30 P.M.
  • English Tea, Fridays at 2:00 P.M.
  • Valentine’s Day Dance, 1:00 P.M. on 2/16/24
  • Leap Year Celebration, 1:00 P.M. on 2/29/24

Love Bug Donations at Hillcrest Park Zoo: Happening until February 14th.

  • From now until February 14th, stop by the Zoo, make a donation and the animal of your choice will receive a special “Love Bug” Valentine’s Day treat. In return, you will receive a donation certificate and a custom Valentine’s Day Card to give to your sweet someone. While you are there, check out the pre-made Valentine’s Day gift bundles!

Affordable Housing Plan Town Hall

  • The City of Clovis has initiated an Affordable Housing Planning process that will focus on strategies to provide new affordable rental and owner-occupied housing and the rehabilitation of the existing housing stock in Clovis. Public input is important in the development of the Affordable Housing Plan.
  • The Town Hall will be held in person on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at the Ingram Room, Clovis-Carver Public Library, 701 N. Main Street, Clovis NM 87101. The public is encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be provided.
