City of Clovis to Hold Virtual Town Hall to Discuss Metropolitan Redevelopment Area (MRA) Plan

The City of Clovis will be hosting a virtual town hall via Zoom on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM to discuss the Metropolitan Redevelopment Area (MRA) plan. As part of the Clovis Comprehensive Plan (2018), the City of Clovis determined in 2019 that two areas within the city were distressed and in need of improvements to both their economic and physical conditions. The City engaged a consultant, Consensus Planning, in 2020 to complete an MRA Plan for MRA 1 and MRA 2. As part of the MRA planning process, the City distributed community surveys earlier this year to residents, business owners, and the general public in both English and Spanish. The City of Clovis is seeking to further collaborate and engage with the community on the MRA Plan by hosting the virtual town hall.

The MRA Plan will be a valuable tool for the City of Clovis to use for stimulating new investment in residential and commercial development, engage in public/private partnerships, and support local businesses. It will identify redevelopment strategies and catalytic projects that will spur economic development in this area of Clovis.

Residents and business persons within the MRA districts, along with other Clovis residents, are invited to attend the virtual town hall via Zoom. Consensus Planning will provide an overview of the MRA planning process, report results from the community surveys, and ask for feedback from the participants on their ideas for redevelopment.
