CITY OF CLOVIS INVITES AREA RESIDENTS TO ATTEND GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR EFFLUENT REUSE PIPELINE

The City of Clovis would like to invite area residents to attend a groundbreaking ceremony for the Effluent Reuse Pipeline at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 29th, 2013 at the Clovis Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 851 CR 7.

“The City of Clovis has been working diligently on this project for several years and we are excited to be in the first phase of construction,” advised Clovis City Commissioner Randy Crowder, Friday. “When completed it will be a tremendous water conservation tool for our community, providing a more efficient method of watering our city parks and other recreational areas throughout the community.”

The cost of the first phase of the project is four million dollars, and will include the intake structure at the wastewater treatment plant and a pipeline to the Clovis Regional Landfill to be used for daily dust control. Funding for the project has been provided through the Water Trust Board, Capital Outlay funding. The City of Clovis Commission also committed over a million dollars of city funding towards the project. Total costs for the completed pipeline is projected at sixteen million dollars.
