City of Clovis Hires New Airport Director

The City of Clovis is eager to welcome James Harris as the Airport Director for Clovis Municipal Airport. He will begin his work for the City on Monday, November 16, 2020. Harris has spent 16 years in the airport industry and was most recently the Airport Operations Superintendent for Chennault International Airport in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He is also a former U.S. Marine Corps Aviation Operation Specialist and spent two years in the police force. Harris is looking forward to moving to Clovis with his wife, Regine, and their five children.

When asked about his new position, Harris expressed that he is “excited to be part of the development and growth of the Clovis Municipal Airport and enhance the capabilities of the City of Clovis.”

City Manager Justin Howalt also voiced his excitement for Harris to join the City of Clovis team. “Because of his previous experience and knowledge of airport services, I anticipate great growth within this department, and I would like to personally welcome the Harris family to our community.”

The City of Clovis Airport Department consists of five employees and partners with Key Lime Air operating as Denver Air Connection. The Clovis Municipal Airport adheres to all FAA and state regulations.
