CITY OF CLOVIS APPOINTS SENIOR SERVICES DIRECTOR

The City of Clovis has appointed Barbara Riggan as Senior Services Director, effective October 23rd, 2017. Riggan, a Clovis native, has worked for the Older Adults Division since June 2010 as an Administrative Assistant.

Ms. Riggan, who obtained an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science, Business and Office Technology in 2011 at Clovis Community College, works closely with Baxter-Curren, Friendship and La Casa senior centers as well as the Curry Residents Senior Meals Program. She has played an integral role in facilitating discussions related to the decision to construct a new senior center and meal site at Hillcrest Park.

“I love my job, and I love the people I work with daily. I have always had a huge heart for senior citizens,” advised Ms. Riggan, Thursday. “I feel they have worked hard to protect my future, and I plan to do everything within my power to enrich their lives. I promise to do my very best to enhance existing programs and start new programs beneficial to our community.”

“Ensuring our seniors have access to quality programs and facilities is of great importance to the City of Clovis,” advised Clovis City Manager, Justin Howalt. “I believe Ms. Riggan has the experience and knowledge to provide those services to Clovis’ seniors as we move our senior programs and facilities forward.”
