RIBBON CUTTING – PURPLE PARKING SPOTS FOR COMBAT WOUNDED VETERANS

The City of Clovis would like to invite the public to attend a ribbon cutting at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 23rd, 2016, at the Clovis-Carver Library parking lot for a purple parking spot designated for combat wounded veterans.

The suggestion for designated purple parking spots around the city for combat wounded veterans was brought to the City’s attention by Clovis resident Nathan McCreery. “The purpose of the purple parking spots is to recognize and honor our combat wounded veterans when they visit City of Clovis facilities,” advised Clovis Mayor David Lansford, Friday.   Purple parking spots are initially being installed not only at the Clovis-Carver Library but at City Hall and the Clovis Municipal Airport.
