Exercise Design & Planning Subcommittee
The Exercise Design and Planning subcommittee works with first responder agencies and various other organizations to test the functions of the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and the other emergency actions plans by developing and conducting drills and exercises.

Emergency Response/HAZMAT Subcommittee
The Emergency Response/HAZMAT subcommittee is responsible for reviewing the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) periodically and making any necessary revisions to reflect the growing and changing needs of the community. The EOP contains the City and County’s policy and procedures for responding to all natural and man-made disasters that are likely to occur. Local businesses and facilities which process or store certain hazardous substances above specified reportable quantities are required under state and federal law to provide this information to the LEPC and to local fire departments, as well as the State Emergency Response Committee (SERC) using the Tier II report. This subcommittee assists these facilities in complying with state and federal regulations.

Community Awareness/Membership Subcommittee
The primary functions of this subcommittee are to:
- Develop a public alert and notification program,
- Participate in community outreach events concerning disaster preparedness, and
- Develop public education and information programs.
