Dan Heerding, Emergency Management Director
Currently employed as the Emergency management Director for the City of Clovis and Curry County. I started with the City as a Telecommunication Specialist (911 Dispatcher). Previously, I worked nine years in a public safety capacity with the City of Glendale, Arizona. Prior to Glendale, I was in the U.S. Air Force as a Security Forces (Military Police) Sergeant where I retired after 20 years. While stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, I volunteered with the Bernalillo County Fire Department where I was a Nationally Registered EMT. I also obtained my Firefighter 1 certification during that time. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Safety and Emergency Management from Grand Canyon University. I have also completed the National Emergency Management Basic Academy offered by the Federal Emergency Management Administration.
Ruthann Kelly, Emergency Management Secretary
I have lived in Clovis for 24 years. I earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Eastern New Mexico University in 2001. I started working for the City of Clovis in August 2004 as a secretary for the Clovis Police Department Special Operations Unit. I became the secretary for Emergency Management in January 2014. I have enjoyed learning more about emergency management during the past two years. My biggest accomplishment in 2015 was receiving my certificate of completion of the Basic Emergency Management Academy from the Emergency Management Institute in Emmitsburg, Maryland. My goals for 2016 include taking more classes and improving the emergency management community outreach programs.
