The Emergency Response/HAZMAT subcommittee is responsible for reviewing the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) periodically and making any necessary revisions to reflect the growing and changing needs of the community. The EOP contains the City and County’s policy and procedures for responding to all natural and man-made disasters that are likely to occur. Local businesses and facilities which process or store certain hazardous substances above specified reportable quantities are required under state and federal law to provide this information to the LEPC and to local fire departments, as well as the State Emergency Response Committee (SERC) using the Tier II report. This subcommittee assists these facilities in complying with state and federal regulations.
