The City of Clovis Parks and Recreation Department provides an array of physical resources for residents. Included in the resource base are seventeen parks or recreational areas, encompassing 3,700 acres of which 900 acres are developed for recreational use. There are: 5 youth baseball fields; 5 adult softball fields; 4 youth softball fields; 11 soccer fields; 2 youth football fields; 23 open play areas; 1 skate park; 3 outdoor basketball courts; and four sand volleyball courts.

The department also consists of: the Hillcrest Park Zoo (second largest Zoo in New Mexico); a 9-hole Golf Course, with a Par 3 Course and driving range; one indoor pool and one outdoor pool; a recreational center with two gymnasiums and a weight room; and the Lyceum Theater. Park shelters and a sunken garden are available for rentals throughout the year. Swimming lessons and water aerobics are offered at the two pools, depending on the season.

Keep Clovis Beautiful, an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, is part of the department. KCB conducts two major cleanups within the City, in the Fall and Spring.

The Department has received several awards from New Mexico Parks and Recreation Association (NMRPA), as well as from Keep America Beautiful and New Mexico Clean & Beautiful.
