Chapter 13.14 FATS, OILS AND GREASE
13.14.100 Preexisting grease interceptors.
Any user currently operating a grease interceptor/trap, shall be exempt
from these requirements, except in those cases where the city determines that
the following conditions exist:
A. Inadequate sizing of grease
interceptor/trap;
B. Inadequate maintenance procedures exist;
C. FOG
concentration exceeds two hundred mg/L;
D. Plumbing system which separates
grease interceptor facility from remainder of the sanitary system is not placed;
or
E. A sewage blockage has occurred or is occurring that, in the opinion of
the city manager or his designee, may impact the public safety and welfare or
the integrity of the public sanitary sewer.
Should an existing grease
interceptor/trap be found to meet one of the conditions above, the user
operating the grease interceptor/trap shall immediately improve the conditions
to comply with the requirements. (Ord. 1485-95 § 2(part), 1995).
