Chapter 13.14 FATS, OILS AND GREASE
13.14.040 Wastewater sampling.
A. Location. The city will determine the location for all wastewater
sampling. The user shall provide a safe, secure location meeting the
city’s requirements for the wastewater sampling within ninety days of
receipt of the city’s request.
B. Method. The method of sampling shall
be determined by the city. Methods may include grab or composite sampling
depending on the user’s flow, access, process and other variables. The
standard method will be a composite sample.
C. Duration. The duration and
frequency of sampling shall be determined by the city. Duration and frequency
may include single samples or multiple samples taken over a period of time
depending on the user’s flows, access, process, hours of operation and
other variables. The standard duration and frequency will be five, six or seven
days, twenty-four hour time weighted or flow proportional composite samples
taken twice per year or as determined by the city.
D. Analysis. All analysis
of wastewater shall be conducted by an EPA or state-approved laboratory to
comply with the analysis requirements listed in 40 CFR 136 and/or the latest
edition of standard methods. (Ord. 1485-95 § 2(part), 1995).
