It is unlawful as a normal practice for any person, firm or city department to top any street tree, park tree, or other tree on public property without prior approval of the parks superintendent. Exceptions for franchised utility companies and in instances where damage is caused by storm or natural disaster may be authorized by the parks superintendent. (Ord. 1595-99 § 2(part), 1999).
