Chapter 12.12 SIGNS, BILLBOARDS AND OVERHANGING STRUCTURES
12.12.110 Notice period.
A. The notice period for removal of permanent signs is five days. The
notice period for temporary signs and portable signs shall be forty-eight hours.
The notice period for removal of abandoned signs shall be thirty days. Property
owners will receive a written notice stating that their property does not meet
the standards set forth in this chapter. A second notice may result in the
issuance of a citation.
B. Re-erection of any sign or substantially similar
structure on the same premises after a noncompliance notice has been issued
shall be deemed a continuance of the original violation.
C. If the sign
permittee, if any, or any owner of the premises upon which the sign is located
has not demonstrated to the satisfaction of the Director of building safety that
the sign has been removed or brought into compliance with the provisions of this
chapter and all other ordinances by the end of the notice period, the director
of building safety shall certify the violations to the city attorney for proper
