It is unlawful for any person to erect, construct, maintain, repair, alter, relocate or keep within the city any sign or other advertising structure as defined in this chapter except as exempted under Section 12.12.080 without first obtaining a sign permit from the building inspector and payment of the fee as required by Section 12.12.220. All illuminated or electric signs shall, in addition, be subject to the provision of the applicable electrical codes and other ordinances. (Ord. 1340-88 § 2(part), 1988).
