Title 12 STREET, SIDEWALKS AND PUBLIC PLACES*
Chapter 12.06 STREET, ALLEY AND RIGHT-OF-WAY EXCAVATIONS
12.06.090 Pavement cutting.
A. Should the excavation require the removal of sections of sidewalks, or
sections of curb and gutter, these sections are to be removed to the nearest
expansion joint, score line or saw-cut edge. If a concrete drive is to be
installed, knockdown of the back of the curb is not permissible. If the
installation requires the joining of dissimilar material, the joint must not be
in the flow line. Valley gutters on reinstalled curb shall maintain existing
flow lines and be constructed of minimum three thousand PSI
concrete.
B. Pavement edges must be trimmed to a vertical face and aligned
with the centerline of any trench. All cuts shall be either parallel or
perpendicular to the street line except for drop inlet connection lines. (Ord.
1583-98 § 3(part), 1998).
