9.40.010 Definitions.

As used in this chapter:
A. “Noise disturbance” means the making, creating, or permitting of any noise on public property of such character, intensity or duration as to be detrimental to the life, health, or welfare of any individual of normal sensitivities, or which either steadily or intermittently annoys, disturbs, injures, or endangers the comfort, repose, peace or safety of any individual of normal sensitivities.
B. “Public right-of-way” means any street, avenue, boulevard, highway, sidewalk, alley, park, or other municipally owned real estate.
C. “Sound amplifying equipment” means any machine or device for the amplification of the human voice, music, or any other sound, but shall not include warning devices or authorized emergency vehicles or horns or other warning devices on any vehicle used only for traffic safety purposes.
D. “Real property boundary” means a line along the ground surface, and its vertical extension, which separates the real property owned by one person from that owned by another person, but not including intra building real property divisions.
E. “Residential area” means the area designated for any residential use under the zoning ordinance of the city. (Ord. 1574-98 §3(part), 1998).
