Any gambling device or other equipment of any type used in gambling shall be seized by the city law enforcement officers discovering such device or equipment, and it shall be the duty of such officers to retain custody of the property seized until such property is disposed of by order of the district court of the county. Such officers are directed to apply to the district attorney for a petition to the district court asking for the court’s order for the destruction of the property so seized. (Prior code §13-16.7).
