Chapter 8.24 SLAUGHTER AND PROCESSING OF ANIMALS AND ANIMAL BI-PRODUCTS
8.24.020 Requirements.
It is unlawful for an operator to:
A. Allow any processing or storage
outside of an enclosed structure, except for the actual loading or unloading of
animals, carcasses or processed products and bi-products;
B. Expose
carcasses, bi-products, body parts, pelts, or blood outside of an enclosed
structure;
C. Allow foul or offensive odors to emit from animal processing
without using odor reducing equipment and procedures;
D. Allow exposure that
will unreasonably attract flies, rodents, vermin, or other unsanitary, unhealthy
or disease enhancing conditions;
E. Fail to comply with any federal (U.S.
Department of Agriculture or Environmental Protection Agency), state (New Mexico
Environment Department or New Mexico Livestock Board), or local (city of Clovis
nuisance, garbage or sewer system) laws, ordinances or regulations. (Ord.
