The person in charge of a public meeting, whether that be the mayor, mayor pro-tem or other official, shall make reasonable efforts to secure compliance with the provisions of this chapter by posting appropriate signs; asking smokers to refrain from smoking during any public meeting; and, affirmatively directing smokers to areas outside the meeting room.
