Chapter 8.04 GARBAGE AND RUBBISH*
8.04.040 Collection--Deposit requirements.
A. All garbage and rubbish except as referred to subsection D hereof,
shall be placed in a securely tied plastic bags deposited in containers meeting
the requirements of Section 8.04.080.
B. Organic waste is not required to be
placed in plastic garbage bags.
C. All garbage and rubbish shall be drained
of liquid before being deposited for collection.
D. All garbage and rubbish
that cannot be placed in plastic garbage bags shall be securely tied and bundled
not over four feet in length and seventy-five pounds in weight, and shall be
located in the alley at a place convenient for collection crews.
E. In areas
where steel containers known as dempster dumpsters or dempster dumpmasters are
furnished by the city, all garbage and rubbish which accumulates from
establishments served by such containers shall be deposited and stored in such
containers, and all cardboard cartons and crates shall be collapsed before being
deposited for collection crews.
F. No poisons, acids, caustic materials,
chemicals, explosives, wastes contaminated by infectious disease, radioactive
wastes, dead animals, rocks, sand, dirt, bricks or building materials shall be
deposited in refuse containers. Notwithstanding the provisions hereof, health
care providers shall be allowed to deposit rubbish arising from provision of
health care in refuse containers. (Ord. 1866-2007 § 2(part), 2007:
