6.12.040 Permit approval.

A. Within thirty working days of receipt of an application for a permit, the city department of animal control shall review the application and inspect the premises to determine whether it complies with the standards established in the ordinance codified in this chapter.
B. Within thirty working days of the inspection required for a permit, the animal control department shall approve, conditionally approve, or deny the permit application and shall notify the applicant in writing of the decision. The animal control division shall approve an application only if it determines that:
1. The standards established by the ordinance codified in this chapter and other applicable laws and regulations have been met;
2. The issuance of a permit will not result in activity which presents a danger to the public health, safety or welfare or a danger or nuisance to the neighborhood.
C. If an applicant wishes to appeal the animal control department’s decision regarding a permit application, the applicant may request a hearing. A written request for
hearing must be filed at the animal control center within five days of receipt of the decision.
D. Notices given pursuant to this section shall be deemed served when delivered in person to the applicant or sent by certified mail to the last known address of the applicant. (Ord. 1648-2000 § 3(part), 2000).
