Chapter 5.48 LABOR ORGANIZATIONS AND EMPLOYEE PROTECTION
5.48.040 Prohibited acts--Employer.
No employer within the corporate boundaries of the city
shall:
A. Require any person to be recommended or approved by, or to
be cleared through, any labor organization as a condition of employment or
continuation of employment; or
B. Deduct from the wages, earnings or compensation of an
employee any union dues, fees, assessments or other charges to be held for or
paid to a labor organization, unless the employer has first received a written
authorization for the deduction signed by the employee, which authorization may
be revoked by the employee at any time by giving written notice of such
revocation to the employer. (Ord. 1345-89 § 4, 1989).
