Chapter 5.40 CARNIVALS, FESTIVALS AND CIRCUSES
5.40.010 Definitions.
The following terms, when used in this chapter, shall have
the following definitions:
A. “Carnival” means any transitory commercial
entertainment, amusement or exhibition of any kind or nature which provides
amusement rides, concessions, games of skill or chance, and other similar forms
of amusement.
B. “Circus” means any area or enclosure circular
or oval in shape, whether or not covered by a tent or located within a building,
which is surrounded by tiers of seats and which is intended for the commercial
exhibition of feats of horsemanship, acrobatic performances, clowns, trained
animals and other similar forms of amusement.
C. “City” means the city of Clovis, New
Mexico.
D. “Festival” means any carnival which has
fifteen or fewer amusement rides, or concessions. (Ord. 1163-80 § 1,
1980).
