At the completion of such investigation, the chief of police shall forthwith recommend to the city commission that such application be granted or denied as in their discretion may be for the best interest of the city, and thereupon, the city commission shall by motion either consent to or object to the granting of such license or transfer. The city clerk shall thereupon immediately advise the chief of the division of liquor control of the action taken by the city commission. (Prior code § 3-8).
