The powers and duties of the committee shall be to:
A. Act as the sole coordinator for city beautification activities and committees; including, but not limited to, Keep America Beautiful, Beautiful Clovis, Tree City, Toss no Mas, etc.;
B. Promote, develop and carry out policies and procedures to educate the public about the benefits of having a clean and attractive community;
C. Develop, promote and further the creation of sponsor programs and activities for the improvement and beautification of public and private property;
D. Assist in the formation of citizen/neighborhood/ business action groups;
E. Form a public/private partnership for Clovis pride promoting public attractiveness in business and public sector property;
F. Promote and create permanent programs to develop a community ethic among the population of the community for the cleaning and beautifying of the community;
G. Research, review and complete reports and studies as needed;
H. Evaluate policies, plans, procedures, codes, resolutions, ordinances, and rules and regulations of the city relating to cleanliness and beautification;
I. Make periodic reports to the city commission of the activities of the committee and recommendations for amendments and/or revisions of existing policies and procedures;
J. Conduct periodic meetings of the committee and public hearings and meetings as necessary to perform the duties set forth herein;
K. Investigate and provide recommendations as directed by the city commission. (Ord. 1690-2002 § 2(part), 2002; Ord. 2001 § 2(part), 2001).
