Chapter 2.71 WATER POLICY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
2.71.020 Membership-Qualification-Appointment.
A. The committee shall be composed of seven voting members to be nominated
by the mayor and, with the advice and consent of the commission, to be appointed
by him.
B. One member shall be a city commissioner and one member shall be a
county commissioner.
C. Four committee members shall be residents of the
city and one member shall be a resident of Curry County outside the
city.
D. The five non-elected members of the committee shall have staggered
terms, three members shall be initially appointed for terms of two years, and
two members shall be appointed for initial terms of one year.
E. After the
expiration of the initial terms, all non-elected members shall be appointed for
terms of two years.
F. Vacancies resulting from the death, resignation or
removal of a member shall be filled by appointment for unexpired portion of the
term of the member creating the vacancy.
G. Members of the committee shall
serve without compensation.
H. One member of the city administration, one
member of the county administration, a representative of the New Mexico-American
Water Company, a representative of the Central Curry Soil and Water Conservation
Board, and a representative from Eastern Plains Council of Governments shall
serve as ex-officio, non-voting members. (Ord. 1719-2002 (part),
