Chapter 2.40 PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD*
2.40.020 Terms of office--Vacancy.
A. Non-Student Members. The terms of the non-student members of the
parks and recreation board shall be three years. Vacancies upon the parks and
recreation board shall be filled by the mayor with the consent of the city
commission, and all vacancies must be filled for the unexpired term of the
appointed member.
B. Student Members. The terms of the student nonvoting
ex-officio members shall be two years. A junior at Clovis High School shall be
selected each year to serve a term to coincide with the student’s junior
and senior year of high school. Terms shall be staggered. The two student
members shall be appointed by the principal of Clovis High School, with the
consent of the city commission. Vacancies of either student position shall be
filled in the same manner and shall be filled for the unexpired term of the
appointed member.
C. Removal. Any member of the parks and recreation board
may be removed from office by the mayor, with the consent of the city commission
after due notice that such member has missed three consecutive meetings or has
been absent at fifty percent of the meetings held during any twelve-month
period. In the event of any removal under this section, the position shall
become vacant and shall be filled as provided in this section. (Ord. 1743-2003
