Chapter 2.20 BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
2.20.020 Appointment procedures.
Wherever any section of the city code relating to advisory boards or
commissions provides for the appointment of members by (A) the mayor, (B) the
mayor with the consent of the city commission, or (C) the mayor with the consent
and approval of the city commission, the following appointment procedures shall
apply:
1. At least thirty days prior to the expiration of any term of a
member, notice and solicitation of interested candidates for the position shall
be initiated by the city administration.
2. The list of prospective
candidates shall be submitted to the applicable board or commission for
consideration and recommendation.
3. The list of candidates shall be
submitted to the city commission.
4. The Clovis city commission shall vote
by ballot from the list of candidates.
5. The person receiving a majority of
the votes (or such other percentage as specified by ordinance) shall be
appointed by the mayor. (Ord. 1472-94 § 2(part), 1994).
