The temporary municipal judge shall hear and determine cases arising under municipal ordinances while sitting as municipal judge, and while acting as temporary municipal judge shall have all of the jurisdiction and authority conferred by law upon the municipal judge. The temporary municipal judge is authorized to hear any case involving a violation of municipal ordinance when the municipal judge is absent from chambers for any reason. (Prior code § 2-16.2).
