Codification of municipal ordinances is authorized by Section 3-17-5, New Mexico Statutes Annotated 1978, and codification of ordinances may also be accomplished by any home rule charter municipality having adopted a charter pursuant to the provisions of Article X, Section 8, New Mexico Constitution. The Book Publishing Company, Seattle, Washington, has compiled, edited and published a codification of the permanent and general ordinances of the city of Clovis, New Mexico. There have been filed and there are now on file in the office of the city clerk, for public inspection, three copies of a document entitled the “Clovis City Code.” (Ord. 1273-85 § 1, 1985: Ord. 1173--81 § 1, 1981).
