The City of Clovis Animal Control Officers have begun to patrol the school yards for loose dogs and cats. City Ordinance 6.04.040 states " a dog or cat that is off the owners property and not in a enclosed area is considered running at large". The Animal Control Officers have implemented a zero tolerance policy with all animals on school grounds.
School officals and busdrivers have been advised to call the Clovis Police Department if they see any animals on school grounds before 8:00 am when the Animal Shelter opens.
Pet owners need to make sure that all fences and gates are secured. Current rabies tags need to be worn by all animals in compliance with city law.
Please help to reduce animal bites this school year by helping us and obeying all animal laws.
