Emergency Management

The Office of Emergency Management responds to all types of emergencies or disasters that may affect our city and county. These responsibilities may include spills or ruptures of containers transporting or storing hazardous substances, floods, windstorms, tornadoes, severe hail, extended utility outages or any other natural or manmade hazard or emergency that affects the health, welfare or safety of the citizens of Clovis and Curry County.

The Office of Emergency Management also maintains, updates, and exercises the city/county All Hazard Emergency Operations Plan (EOP). The purpose of the EOP is to plan and prepare for any emergency that taxes the resources of one or more agencies.

The Office of Emergency Management also opens and coordinates efforts in the city/county EOC (Emergency Operations Center). In the event of a disaster or serious emergency, the elected officials or department directors of the affected agencies, or their designated representatives, all meet in the EOC which facilitates the coordination of resources needed in an event of this magnitude.
