CLOVIS MUNICIPAL ELECTION SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, MARCH 6, 2018

The City of Clovis will hold a Regular Municipal Election on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, for the purpose of election one (1) Commissioner in District 1 for a four year term, one (1) Commissioner in District 2 for a four year term, one (1) Commissioner in District 3 for a two year term, one (1) Commissioner in District 3 for a four year term, one (1) Commissioner in District 4 for a four year term and one (1) Municipal Judge for a four year term.   There will be 3 questions related to the sale of General Obligation Bonds to provide for capital improvements for Streets, Senior Centers and Wellness Centers.

Any registered elector of the City of Clovis may file their Declaration of Candidacy on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at the City Clerk’s Office, located at 321 Connelly, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is the only day to file as a Candidate and be included on the ballot.  Any registered elector of the City of Clovis may file their Declaration of Write-in Candidacy on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the City Clerk’s Office, located at 321 Connelly, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The ballot will only provide a blank line for any certified write-in candidate.

If you are not currently registered to vote, you must do so with the Curry County Clerk, located at 411 Gidding, no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday February 6, 2018. If you have moved or changed your name since the time you registered to vote, you should change your voter registration to reflect your current name and address.

Ordinance 2073-2016 adopts Voter Authentication by Photo Identification for municipal elections. Electors will be required to provide a phone identification when they present themselves to vote.   If you do not possess a photo identification, please contact the City Clerk’s office for assistance.

Absentee ballots will be mailed beginning January 30, 2018 through March 2, 2018.   Contact the City Clerk’s office, 575-763-9632, or lamelancon@cityofclovis.org, for an application.    Early voting will be February 14, 2018 through March 2, 2018 at the City Clerk’s office located at 321 Connelly.
