STATEMENT REGARDING SHOOTING INCIDENT AT CLOVIS-CARVER LIBRARY, MONDAY, AUGUST 28TH

At approximately 4:00 p.m., Monday, August 28th, 2017, there was a shooting incident at the Clovis–Carver Public Library located at 701 N. Main Street in Clovis, New Mexico. Emergency personnel immediately responded to the scene and apprehended the alleged shooter.

The City of Clovis can confirm that two individuals were killed and four individual were injured as a result of this incident. An investigation is ongoing led by the 9th Judicial Major Crimes Unit.  As more information becomes available we will share this with the public.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those affected by this terrible tragedy in our community and we respectfully ask for their privacy at this extremely sad time.
