CITY OF CLOVIS ANNOUNCES FORMAL PROCESS FOR APPOINTMENT OF CANDIDATE TO SERVE IN CLOVIS COMMISSION DISTRICT 3

The City of Clovis has announced its formal process for appointment of a candidate to serve in City Commission District 3 position vacated by Robert Sandoval. The term of this position will be until the next regular municipal election in March 2018.

Section 4-5 of the Clovis City Charter requires a replacement be appointed by the Clovis City Commission within 30 days of the vacation of the seat. The Clovis City Commission will appoint a replacement for the vacated position at their regular meeting scheduled for 5:15 p.m., Thursday, October 20th, 2016, at the North Annex of the Clovis-Carver Library, 701 N. Main Street.

“The City Commission have some tough choices ahead in the coming years, particularly in relation to the city’s finances and infrastructure”, advised Mayor Lansford, Friday. “We are seeking a candidate who is able to give of their time to collaborate in providing solutions to these challenges to our constituents.”

Candidates interested in applying shall be District 3 registered qualified electors. Application information is located here or at the Administration office of Clovis City Hall, 321 N. Connelly Street, or upon request by calling the City Manager’s Office at 575-769-7828. Interested candidates will submit completed application documentation to Clovis City Manager, Mr. Larry Fry, 321 N. Connelly Street, Clovis, 88101, no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 14th, 2016.
