2015 ETHNIC FAIR TO BE HELD AT HILLCREST PARK

2015 ETHNIC FAIR TO BE HELD AT HILLCREST PARK

The City of Clovis Cultural & Ethnic Affairs Committee is delighted to announce a week of cultural activities to celebrate our cultural diversity.   Activities begin with Batik & Tie Dye and Drums & Dance cultural workshops from July 13th-18th at the Roy Walker Gym, and will culminate in the 2015 Ethnic Fair on Saturday, July 18th, 2015 at Hillcrest Park.

The fair this year promises to be a community wide cultural celebration with something for everyone in the family.  The Zoo and Splash Pad will be open free of charge to the public throughout the day. There will be cultural dance exhibits by Agalu “Spirit of Drums and Dance”, musical entertainment including Fusion Funk, La Familia Vigil and Bushido Kenyukai Taiko and a talent show sponsored by American Legion Post 117.   There will also be numerous exhibits including the New Mexico Society of Buffalo Soldiers, a fun run and some wonderful food.

The 2015 Car Show is sponsored this year by Hamilton Automotive Group and will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Hillcrest.

“There are exciting, interesting and fun activities organized for the whole community during the cultural celebration week” advised Ethnic Fair Chairman, Mr. Selmus Price Friday.  “Moving the event to Hillcrest Park will provide a great environment for families who would like to attend.”

This year the Ethnic Fair will include a canned food drive with the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico.  All those donating canned foods will be entered into a raffle which will be drawn for prizes throughout the afternoon.
