SAVE THE DATE: P-4 Partnership to Host Spring Job Fair April 29, 2014

The Regional Growth Management Office, in collaboration with the P-4 (Public-Private Private-Public) Partnership and other agencies, will host a regional Spring Job Fair from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the Clovis Civic Center, 801 Schepps Blvd.

This job fair is the effort of several organizations and agencies, collaborating to hold one comprehensive event that connects local job seekers with businesses that need their skills and expertise. In Eastern New Mexico, the available workforce is made up of many individuals who want to work for local companies, including:

  • Military spouses and dependents seeking employment to utilize their skill sets and expertise.
  • Veterans bringing years of experience to the workforce.
  • Retirees (military and civilian) seeking second careers.
  • Students seeking placement in careers matching their educational background.
  • Under employed seeking to utilize their education and skills beyond the scope of their present job.
  • Longtime residents seeking to build on their existing skills.

The P-4 Partnership is made up of the City of Clovis, Curry County, Cannon Air Force Base, the Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce, Clovis Industrial Development Corporation, Clovis Committee of 50, City of Portales, Roosevelt County, the Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce and the Roosevelt County Community Development Corporation.

In addition, Clovis Community College Career Services and the Department of Workforce Solutions, will host a Job Fair Preparation event from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 24. Interested participants need to RSVP by 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, to 575-769-4085.

The P-4 Partnership is currently recruiting companies who are interested in participating in the spring job fair to set up booths at the event. Booth rentals are $35, and can be reserved by calling Raymond Mondragon at 575-762-7714 by April 21, 2014. With the $35 fee, the Partnership will be able to provide:

  • Civic Center space
  • Private interview rooms
  • Pre-Job Fair Training on April 24 at CCC
  • Radio and print advertising targeting both the general public and military-related job seekers (spouses, dependents, retirees, veterans)

The P-4 Partnership enables military installations to achieve their mission while becoming truly sustainable elements of local economies and regions. It also is a framework through which installation and community leaders can develop creative ways to leverage their capabilities and resources to focus on achieving reduced costs, or reductions in risks, by finding shared value.
